APTA Pediatrics Annual Conference: Registration Is Open!

The 2021 Annual Conference of APTA’s Academy of Pediatric Physical Therapy is an online continuing education event to advance pediatric therapy across all disciplines. This year’s Annual Conference will offer you the best of both worlds, with the opportunity to attend “live online” programming over a 3-day weekend November 19-21, 2021, AND the opportunity to watch recorded on-demand sessions on your own schedule. Participating in the “live online” events will give you a chance to engage in special events and interact with speakers, poster/platform presenters, and practice fair participants. Those “live online” events will be recorded and posted a week later to allow you to access them anytime up until April 1, 2022.

Practice Fair Applications Due 10/20: Last year's virtual Practice Fair had 22 presentations that were viewed more than 1,600 times! The Practice Fair is a virtual platform that allows practicing clinicians to share ideas and information about clinical practice with their peers. You are invited to share your creative interventions, strategies, activities, adaptations/modifications, innovative programs, and specialized use of equipment, toys, and materials. Presenters will share knowledge using a three-to-five-minute video that can include an explanation of the idea, examples, and/or samples. Accepted participants' videos will be available on the conference website during conference dates beginning in November and extending until April 1, 2022. Q&A with attendees will be available for each presentation. One Practice Fair presenter will receive the Practice Fair Innovation Award. Click here to apply.

APTA Pediatrics Launches Fitness Initiative: APTA Pediatrics members, non-members, and families are encouraged to join our new Fitness Initiative! Participants will set a goal and move toward that goal. This is a great opportunity to promote our profession during Physical Therapy Month in October and beyond! Although no donation is required, we welcome your support in any amount – money raised will benefit the Wonderfund, which will help families purchase adaptive equipment to enable their children to reach their full potential. Those who enroll by October 31, 2021, with a donation of at least $40 will receive a Wonderfund T-shirt!
